Silver Coin - 50 Shillings II.
The 50 Schilling Type II (Form II) coin is an Austrian commemorative silver coin minted by the Austrian Mint between 1974 and 1978.This series directly followed the first type, but due to rising precious metal prices on world markets, the silver content was significantly reduced (from the older fineness of 900/1000 to just 640/1000). The coins feature different designs for each year of minting, commemorating prominent Austrian personalities or historical anniversaries (e.g., 125 years of the Austrian Gendarmerie, the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics, or 1200 years of the Kremsmünster Abbey).
